City issues permit for Le Petit Paris cafe renovation in the Southpoint area

The city issued a permit June 23 for Wilkinson Construction LLC to renovate the former Fresh-Mex & Co. space at 7111 Bentley Road for Le Petit Paris to open its third area cafe.

Wilkinson Construction, of Lake City, will renovate about 2,000 square feet of the 4,328-square-foot restaurant space at a project cost of $150,000.

Big Regional Projects: Duval County advances $270 million factory

Cosentino Group plans to break ground in January 2025 on the $270 million first phase of a project to build a manufacturing facility at the Cecil Commerce Center megasite in West Jacksonville, south of Interstate 10.

The Spanish sustainable surfaces company intends to complete the first phase at the end of 2028. The multiphase project could grow to a $440 million manufacturing facility.

Heartland Dental adding two Jacksonville locations

The city issued permits in recent weeks for Heartland Dental in eTown and in Bartram Park.

On May 19, the city issued a permit for Jacobs Group of Kentucky Inc. to build-out 4,123 square feet of space for Heartland Dental at 13927 Old St. Augustine Road in Bartram Park at a cost of $627,480.

City Council OKs $1.5 million tax incentive for Project Crystal

City Council signed off on a $1.5 million tax incentive for code-named Project Crystal’s plan to establish an estimated $61 million distribution facility in North Jacksonville.

Council voted  17-0 on June 13 to approve Resolution 2023-0332 and an attached development agreement with what city officials describe as a major international retailer of household goods, clothing and food items.
